About Chana
We are thankful to the Al-mighty for the privilege we had to raise our precious daughter Chana for seven and a half years.
Chana celebrated being Jewish every day of her life. It was joy that one felt to see her enthusiasm when lighting Shabbat candles, her excitement when standing in the Sukkah and shaking the Lulav and her thrill when putting a coin in the tzedaka box. She loved doing Mitzvot and loved to help others in doing them too.
From the youngest age, Chana would hold her stuffed Torah tightly, close to her heart and passionately sing “Torah, Torah I love you”. As she grew older her favorite bedtime stories were those about the weekly Torah portion.
When Chana wasn’t well, tens of thousands of Shabbat candles were lit across the globe for Chana, and thousands of Jews from all walks of life did Mitzvot in her honor. Most of them never met Chana.
We have decided to write a Torah scroll that will carry Chana’s name, and will continue to spread Chana’s light. Writing a Torah Scroll will unite our community and Jews from around the world and will be a direct continuation of her love of Torah and her ability to connect all Jews with affection, as one family. Chana’s Torah will ensure that her soul will continue to shine and inspire us forever.
We are pleased to announce the launch of Chana’s Torah a Torah Scroll which we will begin to write and finish writing in Greenville,NC the city which was Chana’s home for most of her life.
